KNAW/NWO up coming matchmaking workshop

Matchmaking Workshop the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) and The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO)and will organise a matchmaking workshop in Bogor, Indonesia on 3 - 5 November 2008 as to bring together Indonesian and Dutch researchers with stakeholders (governmental organisations, NGO’s, societal and business partners), to substantiate and enlarge the network, to support Research Cluster establishment, and to support joint Indonesian - Netherlands development of research applications.
Preparatory Travel grants
There will be a limited budget for travel grants available from NWO-WOTRO Science for Global Development to participate in the workshop. A travel grant will amount to a maximum of € 2.000 / person, including economy class air fair and local accommodation. A maximum of 20 travel grants are available for researchers and potential stakeholders representing research and stakeholders groups with a clear interest in participating in the Agriculture beyond Food programme and committed to join a research cluster and to jointly formulate and submit a research application. A maximum of one representative per research or stakeholder group is eligible for travel grant application.
Applications for a travel grant (and NOT for the research projects, for which the deadline will be January 8, 2009) should be submitted to Hans de Boois before September 15, 2008 and should include the following information:
Name and affiliation of the applicant. The applicant should hold a relevant, permanent position in the group it represents
Substantiation of interest in the Agriculture beyond Food programme
Short description of issues relevant to the AbF Programme the applicant’s group is currently working on.
experience and know how / added value
Position of the applicant’s group in the current Biobased Economy debate
Prospective role of the group in an AbF Research Cluster (incl. Netherlands- Indonesian partnerships)
Financial means If the applicant’s group is not eligible for KNAW/NWO research project funding, but would give obvious added value to the AbF programme, what financial resources are at its disposal to participate in the programme (e.g. own resources, other funding agencies)
