10,000 Delft publications available in full text

20 Jun 2008

TU Delft Repository, the online archive with full-text versions of scientific publications from TU Delft, is growing fast. At the end of May the milestone of 10,000 full-text publications was reached. TU Delft Repository helps to make Delft-based scientific output visible and accessible worldwide. The TU Delft Library is responsible for creating and managing the repository.

Bachelor’s and Master’s theses online
At the university considerable interest is being shown in the inclusion of Bachelor’s and Master’s theses in TU Delft Repository. In 2007 a pilot project took place at the Faculty of Architecture and this is now being followed up throughout TU Delft. Almost 600 theses are now online. Preparations are currently underway for the inclusion of theses from other TU Delft sources as well, including the Faculties of EEMCS, TPM and 3ME.

Future: confidential information
The material in TU Delft Repository is, in principle, public and freely available worldwide. In response to existing needs and wishes however, in the future the TU Delft Library will also facilitate the provision of confidential information in a protected environment through ‘access management’.

DAREnet in NARCIS
TU Delft Repository forms part of the national network of digital academic repositories, DAREnet. This network enables exclusive searches for and within the full-text publications of all Dutch universities, currently numbering around 153,000. On 2 June of this year DAREnet was incorporated into the NARCIS science portal.

Science portal
NARCIS provides information about researchers, research organisations and current or recently completed research work by all universities and research institutes in the Netherlands. By means of RSS feed it is possible to stay informed about the latest full-text publications and datasets, as well as current research in your specialist field. NARCIS has been developed by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) and is the leading portal to all Dutch science information. In the coming years the content will be further expanded.
